My thesis discusses Finlands role in the colonial era as many Finns took part in the Russian colonial initative in Alaska. Finnish identity and their role in the colonial agenda is discussed in detail. The intensive collecting and later representation of Native Alaskans in Finland are key issues in this thesis.
